Eric J. Hertz is a double Board-Certified Trial Attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and the American Board of Trial Advocates. A member of America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators and Top 10 Nursing Home Trial Lawyers, Mr. Hertz has tried over 100 jury trials as Lead Attorney and handled over 100 wrongful death cases, resulting in multi-millions of dollars collected for his clients, including several record high verdicts.
Mr. Hertz is the author of Nursing Home Abuse and Your Loved Ones (2016) and co-author of Thomas Reuters: Punitive Damages in Georgia (1997-2021); Georgia Law of Damages (1998-2022); and Georgia Law of Torts (2002). He is a regular speaker and author for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education of Georgia and has been featured in the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association legal periodical Verdict.
Lance D. Lourie graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1982, and received his J.D. degree in 1985 from the University of South Carolina. While in law school, Mr. Lourie served on the South Carolina Law Review and the National Moot Court Team. He is admitted to the Georgia and Tennessee Bars.
Mr. Lourie was a partner with a defense firm, where lie practiced from 1985 to 1997. During that time, his primary area of practice was the defense of medical malpractice, general liability, and civil rights cases.
In 1997, Mr. Lourie left his defense practice. Since that time he has practiced as a plaintiffs' attorney, and practices with Lance Lourie Law PC. Mr. Lourie's practice focuses on the handling of plaintiffs' medical malpractice, nursing home, and general liability cases. Mr. Lourie served a number of years as a Vice President at Large, as well as on the Executive Committee, of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Lourie has been designated as a top-rated lawyer by Super Lawyers. He is also rated by Martindale-Hubbell as AV Preeminent, which is the highest rating for ethics and ability.
Mr. Lourie spends his professional time litigating and trying personal injury cases. He is a frequent writer and lecturer at numerous Continuing Legal Education seminars relating to trial tactics, medical malpractice cases, nursing home cases, general liability cases, and other personal injury cases.
David Lefkowitz graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. and earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law. The Lefkowitz Firm, LLC, represents individuals and corporations in their claims for legal malpractice (legal negligence) and similar claims such as breach of fiduciary duty, executor misconduct and ethical misconduct by attorneys and other fiduciaries. The firm also represents attorneys and law firms with regard to risk management and attorney’s fee disputes. David is an adjunct professor of legal malpractice law, ethics, and risk management at the University of Georgia School of Law and is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars. David has offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Athens, Georgia.
J. Felicia LeRay is a Partner with Hall Booth Smith in its Health Care practice. She focuses her practice on the defense of long-term care and residential care facilities, post-acute care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, community care retirement facilities, physicians, physician groups, hospitals, and integrated delivery systems.
Before joining Hall Booth Smith, Felicia served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for the State of Georgia. In that role, she investigated allegations of health care provider fraud in multi-million-dollar qui tam cases. As such, she is well versed in government investigative techniques.
Christie Paige is a Registered Nurse with nearly fourty years of experience. She brings her vast and extensive knowledge of clinical practice into the medical-legal arena as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. Mrs. Paige is the owner and senior nurse consultant of Paige Legal Nurse Consultants which specializes in Nursing Home cases focused on Sepsis, falls, pressure sore injuries and elder care medical malpractice.
Christie volunteers her time to serve on several peer review committees of industry professional organizations such as the AALNC, Juris Educational Resource Knowledge and Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) and has co authored nursing textbook chapters with AMSN. Christie holds her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Southern Indiana and maintains her board Certified Medical-Surgical Nurse designation authorized through the ANCC. Joe is a Senior Neutral at Miles Mediation & Arbitration, LLC. He has mediated over 3,000 cases since he joined Miles in 2005, following a 20 year career as a trial lawyer. Joe is the third best lawyer in his immediate family, his wife Susan and daughter Audra claiming the first two spots. Joe volunteers for and serves on the boards of several non-profs and firmly believes that with success comes the moral obligation to uplift the downtrodden. When he's not mediating or volunteering his time to help where needed, Joe plays drums and harmonica for the Bear Bones Band, the Young Again band, and others.
Rob Schenk has dedicated his entire law practice to representing those who have been injured due to nursing home abuse and neglect. In 2022, Rob founded Schenk Nursing Home Abuse Law, helping victims and families all across Georgia secure justice. Rob is also the host of the “Nursing Home Abuse Podcast,” where he discusses legal issues and developments in long term care. His expertise and passion make him a leading voice in nursing home litigation in Georgia.
Ms. Leibu received her Juris Doctor degree in 2022 from New York University School of Law, where she served as the Digital Editor of the NYU Law Environmental Law Journal. She also served as a legal clerk for the Department of Justice Eastern District of New York, as well as with the New York Attorney General in the Environmental Protection Bureau. Prior to working with Eric J. Hertz, P.C., Ms. Leibu served as a legal clerk for the Mobile Sources Division of the Environmental Protection Agency, located in their headquarters in Washington, D.C. She speaks four languages due to her multicultural background.
