An Atlanta-native, Alexandra Manning served our county in the Army and spent over fifteen years in law enforcement before becoming an attorney. She was a pioneer as one of the first waves of female certified firefighters. She went on to be a lead agent in the GBI. She served as a detective and K-9 handler and received both a Medal of Valor and Police Officer of the Year. While getting her undergraduate degree at Mercer University, she worked as senior investigator for the prosecution with the Fulton County DA’s Office in the Crimes Against Women and Children Unit and later the defense at the Douglas County Public Defender’s Office.

After graduating from Mercer, Alex went to Vermont Law School. Her time in private practice includes time as a judicial staff attorney and extensive experience in criminal, family law, and civil matters. Judge Manning serves as a Judicial Officer in the Family Division of the Superior Court of Fulton County presiding over Family Division cases. The Cobb County Bar Association recognized Alex with Volunteer of the Year award in 2016 for her extensive pro bono work with Cobb Legal Aid.
