Ben Copeland was born in North Carolina but moved to Alabama at a young age. He grew up in Montgomery, Alabama where he graduated high school. Prior to law school, he attended the University of Alabama, where he earned two Bachelor of Art degrees and worked in the public sector for a county government in Alabama for a period of time. During that time, he earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Alabama.

Thereafter, he attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, graduating in 2008. Since law school, Ben has lived and worked in the Atlanta area. Initially, he worked at a small firm in Douglasville, Georgia where he handled a diverse mix of cases, including personal injury, family law, and criminal defense, and gaining significant civil trial experience.

He also gained his first exposure to Workers’ Compensation during that time and transitioned to Workers’ Compensation defense practice, where he spent three years representing insurance companies and employers at a large firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Currently, Ben works for Montlick & Associates, having worked there since 2015, and handles almost exclusively Workers’ Compensation claims.

Ben lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and one child and enjoys travelling, cooking, and cycling.
