Mr. Benjamin Wagger Karpf
Eastern Circuit Superior Court
A native of Savannah, Benjamin Karpf is a Superior Court Judge of the Eastern Judicial Circuit of Georgia. He received his law degree from Georgetown University and his undergraduate degree from George Washington University.
Following his graduation from law school, Ben worked at a large firm in Washington, DC for several years before moving home to Savannah. In Savannah, Ben was an associate and then a partner at Bouhan Falligant (formerly Bouhan Williams & Levy). He was appointed as a part-time Chatham County Magistrate Court judge in 2015. He was elected to Superior Court in 2018 and reelected in 2022.
Ben is active in the Savannah community, currently or formerly serving on the boards of several local institutions, including the Jewish Educational Alliance community center, the Mediation Center of Savannah, Park Place Outreach youth emergency shelter, The Creative Coast (now Start-Up Savannah), the Shalom School, and the Savannah Jewish Federation.
He is married with two children -- boys in 8th and 10th grade. The boys play in a rock band together, which they named "The Violation." When Ben asked them to pick a name that sounded less like a court proceeding, they countered with "The Contempt," and he decided to cut his losses.
