Elizabeth Horton

Fennemore Law

Elizabeth Horton is an associate in Fennemore Craig’s Business Litigation practice group who works out of our Denver office. Her experience includes litigating complex cases at both the initial trial level and on appeal to the Fourth Circuit.
Elizabeth gained invaluable experience litigating claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), Section 504, Title IX, and the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”). She has also represented clients at hearings before the Social Security Administration as well as at local school IEP meetings. In addition, Elizabeth has significant experience reviewing internal institutional policies and collaborating with medical professionals to ascertain the strength of clients’ claims. Her strong legal research and writing skills have persuaded both administrative and federal courts to accept her clients’ novel arguments. Finally, due to Elizabeth’s attention to detail and strong negotiation skills, the majority of her cases have been positively resolved for clients.
Raised in Georgia by a Canadian and a New Yorker, Elizabeth learned early in her life about the importance of service – and so, a career as an attorney became a natural progression. In her practice, she loves providing service to others, and aggressively representing her clients. Elizabeth looks at every case as a complex puzzle to solve, utilizing writing, research and advocacy in her broad repertoire of legal tools.
Elizabeth’s partner is an active-duty military member at Fort Carson, and the couple live the Colorado lifestyle – fishing in the great outdoors and enjoying lake time. Elizabeth also enjoys reading and singing as great ways to unwind after demanding days in court.
