Mr. James Joseph Fredricks

James Fredricks is the Chief of the Washington Criminal II Section of the Antitrust Division, U.S. Department of Justice, where he manages the investigation and prosecution of regional, national, and international criminal antitrust cartel and related offenses.  Prior to taking the helm at Criminal II, Mr. Fredricks was Assistant Chief of the Division’s Appellate Section, where he oversaw all criminal appeals and select civil appeals in antitrust matters before the federal appellate courts. He has also served as a trial attorney in the Division’s Appellate and National Criminal Enforcement Sections, a senior counsel to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Criminal Antitrust Enforcement, and a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in Alexandria, Virginia.

Before joining the Justice Department, he clerked for the Honorable R. Lanier Anderson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Mr. Fredricks received his B.A. from Emory University and his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School.
