Karen C. Ratigan is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College and the University of South Carolina School of Law. She has been Assistant General Counsel at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control – soon to be the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services – since April 2018. Prior to this position, she worked in private practice, the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office, and the South Carolina Judicial Department. In her current role, she advises the Department’s program staff on matters related to what she calls the alphabet soup programs: CERCLA, RCRA, and UST.
