Karen has almost 30 years of litigation experience having tried cases in both Georgia and Alabama. For over 2 decades, Karen represented healthcare facilities and practitioners as well as corporate and nonprofit officers and directors acting as both outside general counsel and litigation counsel. Karen is dedicated to early and thorough investigation of claims which enables her to successfully litigate complex and high exposure cases in the most efficient manner possible for her clients.


Karen earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago majoring in Finance and Economics as well as a minor in Accounting. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Tulane University School of Law and is admitted to the State Bar of Alabama, the State Bar of Georgia, the Alabama Court of Appeals, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Alabama, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and U.S. District Courts including the Northern District of Alabama, the Northern District of Georgia, and the Middle District of Georgia.


In early 2025, Karen began representing individuals and their families in claims involving medical malpractice, nursing malpractice, and elder abuse. She has extensive experience in litigating elder abuse claims including cases involving skin breakdown, falls, nutrition, hydration, and elopement. Her litigation practice focuses on representing residents and families in claims against personal care homes, assisted living facilities, and sub-acute and long-term acute care facilities. These claims often encompass claims of professional negligence against treating physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and therapy providers.
