Laura French is an experienced attorney, educator, and advocate committed to protecting individuals, families, businesses, and legacies. As the founder of French Law Group, LLC, she has over 25 years of experience in estate planning and business law, helping individuals and families, entrepreneurs, musicians, athletes, and other creatives safeguard their intellectual property, assets, and legal futures.
A graduate of Auburn University, Laura earned her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Alabama. She is admitted to practice in Georgia and Alabama, as well as before the U.S. Supreme Court.
With a personal connection to the entertainment and sports industries, Laura understands the unique legal challenges creatives and athletes face. Her father was a musician and photographer; she and her sister inherited his copyrighted photographs featured in The Masters 1980 Annual. As the mother of a son pursuing a professional soccer career in England, she also recognizes the legal complexities athletes and their families navigate. These experiences drive her passion for helping artists and athletes protect their legacies through estate planning, trusts, and trademark protections.
A Georgia Super Lawyer® and AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, Laura has served as General Counsel for major organizations, including a hospital, and a utility company. She has been quoted in Kiplinger, Medium, the American Bar Association magazine, and the Associated Press.
Beyond her legal practice, Laura has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Georgia School of Law and Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. She frequently speaks on estate planning, intellectual property, and business law, making complex legal concepts accessible. She also founded The Mom Lawyer® brand and created Estate Planning YOU®, a course designed to help attorneys refine their estate planning practices.
