Mark A. Hendrix is a superior court judge in the Atlantic Judicial Circuit and serves the counties of Liberty, Long, Tattnall, Evans, Bryan and McIntosh.
After graduating from the University of Florida with honors and the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, Mark began his legal career as an assistant district attorney for the Atlantic Judicial Circuit, which includes Liberty, Long, Bryan, McIntosh, Tattnall and Evans counties. During his tenure at the District Attorney’s office, Mark became the trial team supervisor for Liberty and Long counties and served as lead counsel in over 70 jury trials, including several capital murder cases. Mark also appeared before Georgia’s Supreme Court and Court of Appeals to successfully argue numerous cases on behalf of the State of Georgia. As a mentor, Mark served as a faculty member for the Prosecuting Attorney’s Council (PAC) for classes and curriculum designed to train new prosecutors in the State of Georgia. While serving as an assistant district attorney, Mark was appointed as the first municipal court solicitor for the City of Richmond Hill, Georgia.
After serving as an assistant district attorney for over a decade, Mark entered into private practice with a firm located in Richmond Hill and represented various individuals and businesses, to include Bryan County, with a focus in the areas of criminal law, domestic relations, personal injury and business litigation. During this time, Mark was also appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to represent the citizens of Long County, Georgia, as the Solicitor-General. In 2015, Mark opened a solo practice in Richmond Hill and was later appointed by Governor Nathan Deal as the Solicitor-General of Liberty County, Georgia. In 2020, Mark ran unopposed in Liberty County and was elected as the Solicitor-General. In January of 2024, Mark was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp to a newly created superior court judgeship in the Atlantic Judicial Circuit.
Mark has been married to Paula (Jernigan) Hendrix for 24 years and has 2 sons, Aidan (a rising junior at the University of Florida) and Jake (a rising junior at Savannah Christian Preparatory School). When not working or watching Jake’s soccer games, Mark enjoys attending Compassion Christian Church, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.
