Nilufar Abdi-Tabari is a dedicated and accomplished Managing Attorney with over a decade of experience specializing in family law, domestic violence advocacy, and legal program development. She currently serves at the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, where she leads training initiatives, supervises new attorneys and interns, and manages complex litigation in family law matters ranging from divorce and legitimation to custody modifications and contempt actions.

Known for her strategic approach to legal advocacy, Nilufar has been instrumental in identifying and addressing systemic issues within family law through impact litigation and program innovation. She plays a pivotal role in developing new staff training programs and spearheading attorney development across the organization, while also providing direct representation to clients and overseeing clinic operations in the Justice Resource Center.

Prior to her current role, Nilufar served as a Staff Attorney in the Family Law Program at the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, where she established and expanded legal services for survivors of domestic violence. Her leadership included managing pro bono attorney networks, training legal professionals, and coordinating efforts to ensure robust representation for victims at critical hearings. She also has experience as a Legal Advocate with the Partnership Against Domestic Violence, working directly with survivors to provide both legal and emotional support.

Nilufar is an active member of the Georgia Bar Family Law Section Executive Committee and currently chairs its Inclusion Committee. Her commitment to equity and access to justice underpins her professional work and volunteerism, including her contributions to clinics like the Legitimation Clinic with Fatherhood Inc. and long-term service at the Safe Families Office.

Fluent in English with basic proficiency in Farsi, Nilufar brings a culturally responsive approach to her advocacy. She holds a deep passion for mentoring young attorneys, advancing legal training, and building systems that empower vulnerable communities through legal representation.
