Hon. Rachel Ross Krause

Fulton County Superior Court


Judge Krause has served on the Superior Court of Fulton County since 2019. She was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal, then elected to a full term in June 2020 and re-elected in 2024.  In addition to managing her busy docket, Judge Krause also volunteers to preside over an Accountability Court, helping people struggling with substance abuse working to overcome their issues and return to their families and communities as responsible citizens.  Judge Krause serves on Fulton Superior Court’s Case Management Committee, Business Court Committee, and Executive Committee, a position to which she was elected by her colleagues.  She also serves on the Nominations Committee and Pattern Jury Instruction Committee for Georgia’s Council of Superior Court Judges and currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Post 18.

Judge Krause graduated in 2001 from Mercer Law School, where she was awarded the James C. Estes Moot Court Award and appointed to the Order of the Barrister.  After graduation, Judge Krause practiced civil litigation for eighteen years in both state and federal courts.  Before being appointed to the bench in 2019, Judge Krause was a partner with Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard and Smith.  She and her husband, Tom, have three children – two in high school and one in college.
