Rebecca Franklin Harris is an experienced trial lawyer who handles high-exposure, complex litigation centered on consumer rights and product safety. She represented the State of Georgia in litigation against pharmaceutical companies and helped recover more than $1 billion in settlements arising out of the opioid epidemic. Her practice includes product liability, toxic exposure, aviation disasters, medical malpractice, trucking accidents, class actions, and unsafe practices in the entertainment industry, among other areas.
She has secured significant jury verdicts and settlements against virtually all major automotive and tire manufacturers. She has successfully represented railroad workers diagnosed with cancer in toxic exposure cases. She has also obtained notable verdicts in entertainment-industry safety cases involving fatal incidents on film and television sets.
Rebecca has served in leadership roles and represented prospective class members in class action cases, including litigation involving a deceptive drug and alcohol treatment program. She also represented the family of a patient who died while under the care of the rehabilitation facility. For her work exposing the misconduct behind the operation, she received the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association’s Courageous Pursuit of Justice Award.
She earned her B.A. in Journalism, magna cum laude, and her J.D., cum laude, both from the University of Georgia. She has been inducted into the Fulton County Daily Report’s “Verdicts Hall of Fame” and named to its “40 Under 40.” She is recognized among the National Trial Lawyers Top 100. She regularly speaks on pretrial practice and trial advocacy.
