Shane Mangrum, MD, is an experienced, board-certified physiatrist at Axion Spine & Neurosurgery in Alpharetta in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Sports Medicine. He takes a holistic approach to spine treatment and other musculoskeletal disorders, specializing in non-operative interventions. 

Dr. Mangrum earned his undergraduate degree in evolutionary biology from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He completed medical school at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Dr. Mangrum spent time with his training at the  Mayo Clinic also the University of Utah.  He is also a co-founder of TheraNova, LLC, a biomedical device development company. 

Dr. Mangrum has worked in the Worker’s Compensation space for 20+ years in multiple different states across the country.  He has experience working in the care of injured workers and also with larger companies consulting regarding employee health and occupational health care.
