Hon. Thomas David Lyles
Paulding County Superior Court
Originally from Clinton, Mississippi, Judge David Lyles holds a degree in Accounting from Mississippi College and a Juris Doctorate from Emory Law School. He served from 1998 until 2016 as an Assistant District Attorney in the Atlanta, Bell-Forsyth, and Paulding Judicial Circuits.
Judge Lyles volunteers as a faculty instructor at Emory Law School in their nationally recognized Kessler-Eidson Trial Techniques Program and has spoken statewide at numerous civil, family and criminal law conferences.
A 2016 recipient of the Justice Robert Benham Award for Community Service, Judge Lyles currently serves on the Board of Directors for CAYA Ministries and as an officer in the Paulding County Rotary Club. He was elected to the bench as a Superior Court Judge in the Paulding Judicial Circuit in May 2016. In addition to his civil and criminal dockets, Judge Lyles started and presides over both the Paulding County Mental Health Court and the Paulding County Parental Accountability Court.
