BIOGRAPHICAL AND UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION:

Born in Macon, Georgia, on June 17, 1952; fourth-generation attorney in Macon,
Georgia; attended University of Georgia and received A.B. degree, Cum Laude, from Mercer
University in 1974 with double major in Political Science and Christianity.

LEGAL EDUCATION:

Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law and received J.D. degree in
1977; Mercer Law Review (1975-1977); Associate Editor of the Mercer Law Review;
Member, Mercer Moot Court Board (1976-1977).

LEGAL PUBLICATIONS:

Co-author of annually published treatise on automobile insurance and tort law in
Georgia, Jenkins and Miller, Georgia Automobile Insurance Law, Including Tort Law with
Forms (Thomson Reuters, 1989-2023).

BAR MEMBERSHIPS:

Bar memberships include admission to all Superior Courts and all State Courts of
Georgia; Court of Appeals of Georgia; Supreme Court of Georgia; United States District
Court for the Middle District of Georgia; United States District Court for the Northern
District of Georgia; United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Member,
Georgia Bar Association.

PROFESSIONAL SOCIETIES AND ACTIVITIES:

Chairman and Faculty Member of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education in
Georgia – Bridge-the-Gap Seminars (1983 - 1985); Charter Member, Commission on
Continuing Lawyer Competency in Georgia (1984 - 1987); Chairman of the Insurance Law
Section of the State Bar of Georgia (1985). Additionally, spoke and served as program
moderator-chairman at over 100 legal education insurance and tort law seminars throughout
Georgia since 1980; affiliated as a neutral-mediator with BAY Mediation & Arbitration
Services since 2019.

TRIAL EXPERIENCE:

Trial experience consists of completed jury trials in excess of 175 cases in both state
and federal courts, involving the following subject matter: personal injury and wrongful
death claims arising from motor vehicle accidents; claims against regulated motor carriers
and their liability insurers; policy coverage questions in first party suits and declaratory
judgment proceedings; bad faith claims; uninsured motorist claims, including John Doe
actions; premises liability claims; railroad crossing accident claims; false arrest and
malicious prosecution claims; products liability and warranty claims; slip and fall claims;
medical and legal malpractice claims; defamation claims; and other areas of general tort
liability and casualty claims and insurance related litigation.

APPELLATE EXPERIENCE:

Appellate experience consists of over sixty appeals before the Court of Appeals of
Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the
Eleventh Circuit, involving insurance coverage issues, personal injury and wrongful death
claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, products liability, and other
general tort issues and insurance related questions.

PRACTICE HISTORY:

Private law practice in Macon, Georgia, for over 45 years, practicing as an insurance
defense counsel and plaintiff's counsel in personal injury, wrongful death, and insurance and
tort related litigation.
