Mr. Xavier Ottowa Carter
Chance Forlines Carter & King PC
Xavier Carter is one of Georgia’s leading trial lawyers, nationally recognized for his work in high-stakes medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death litigation. He is known for taking on complex cases against hospitals, corporations, and institutions—and for successfully trying those cases before juries across the State of Georgia.
Xavier began his legal career as a commercial litigator at a top-25 global law firm, where he handled complex business disputes and developed the analytical and trial skills that continue to shape his practice. He later served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, prosecuting cases involving federal civil-rights violations by law-enforcement officials, white-collar fraud, and tax evasion. During his tenure with the Department of Justice, Xavier also served as the Civil Rights Enforcement Coordinator and the Human Trafficking Task Force Coordinator.
For the past eight years, Xavier has focused his practice exclusively on representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice, nursing-home abuse and neglect, and trucking litigation. In recent years, he has served as a lead trial-team member in numerous major jury trials throughout Georgia, working alongside co-counsel including law partner Lindsay Forlines, Stephen Chance, and Andrew King. In the past 3 years alone, that team has secured more than $200 million in verdicts at trial.
Xavier brings to the courtroom the perspective of a former federal prosecutor, the discipline of a large-firm litigator, and the experience of a trial lawyer who regularly tries—and wins—complex cases before Georgia juries.
