I have been practicing DUI defense for twenty-five years and I still get excited about it. This practice gives us so much opportunity to be creative and do good work for our clients. Sometimes a small legal victory is the momentum we can use to help us convince a client to turn his life around. Other times, it's fun to win a case for the client that doesn't have a substance issue, but made a bad decision, and can't have this on his record. The best times are when we have a cocky prosecutor or difficult judge, and we steal a not guilty from them. This must be what it feels like to pull off a heist. And, the best feeling about doing this job is that we are keeping the system honest. It sure beats digging ditches (although that's not too bad either).
