           Linley Jones practices with the Linley Jones Firm, P.C. in Buckhead, specializing in legal malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, and wrongful death.  Ms. Jones is Past President of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the first woman lawyer in the United States to be board certified in legal malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys (an ABA-approved certification board).  She has repeatedly been selected as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Georgia by Super Lawyers.  She has handled hundreds of legal malpractice and personal injury cases and is a frequent speaker on the topics of legal malpractice, ethics and personal injury. 

 

           Ms. Jones has also received the highest rating from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell, an AV-Preeminent Peer Review Rating, and has a 5 out of 5-star rating on Avvo.com.  She has been recognized as a Senior Fellow of Litigation Counsel of America, a trial lawyer honor society.  Ms. Jones has achieved multiple seven-figure verdicts and settlements on behalf of deserving clients.

 

Raised on St. Simons Island, Georgia, Ms. Jones worked as a Senate page for the United States Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington, D.C. during high school and then started college at age 16 as a Kemper Scholar at Emory University where she received her B.A. in political science.  Ms. Jones then obtained her law degree as a Callaway Scholar at Georgia State University in 1992, and served as political editor of the Georgia State Law Review.  Ms. Jones appeared on CNN over 100 times as a Senior Legal Analyst (in addition to practicing law), and has also appeared on many other local and national programs.  Ms. Jones was a co-founder of the City of Brookhaven, Georgia, where she now serves as Mayor Pro Tem and a City Councilmember after business hours.

Ms. Jones is also an active member of the American Association for Justice, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Atlanta Trial Lawyers Society.  She currently serves as Parliamentarian of the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys and has served on the Board of Directors of the Civil Justice PAC.  She remains a champion member of both the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the Civil Justice PAC. Also a supporter of the arts, Ms. Jones serves as Treasurer of Souls Grown Deep Foundation, an organization dedicated to documenting, preserving, and promoting in the canon of American art history the contributions of African American artists from the South and the cultural traditions in which they are rooted.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of Souls Grown Deep Community Partnership which is dedicated to improving the quality of life of communities that gave rise to the art made by African American artists of the South.

Mike Gorby has tried hundreds of cases and handled thousands of matters for corporations and individuals across the United States throughout his three- decade legal career. Mike’s practice focuses on Insurance Coverage Disputes, Commercial Litigation and Liability for Owners and Managers of Property. He is also a certified mediator.

Mike is a passionate teacher. He’s chaired the Premises Liability Seminar for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education of Georgia (now a Division of the Georgia State Bar) for over twenty years. He is a frequent speaker for state and national legal education programs including ICLE, the National Business Institute and the Georgia Tech Procurement Assistance Center (GTPAC), which helps businesses identify, compete for, and win government contracts.

Mike is the author of Premises Liability in Georgia, which was originally published by Thomson-Reuters® in 1998 and which is now in its Second Edition. Mike is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law. Before attending law school, Mike served as an Artillery Officer with the U.S. Army.

Edward A. Piasta is the managing partner of Piasta Walker Hagenbush, LLC. He advocates for innocent victims and their families suffering from someone else’s negligence. His practice involves premises liability, insurance bad faith, motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, workplace accidents, and business torts.

In 2018 and 2019, Ed had back-to-back Fulton County Daily Report Top Verdicts, including the Fulton County Daily Report’s Number One ranked premises liability verdict in Georgia for 2018. In that case, the defendant did not offer any money to the plaintiffs before trial. In 2021 and 2022, Ed and his partners had seven-figure verdicts against Walmart in Federal Court and another in Dooly County, Georgia. In 2023, the team had an insurer pay 250% of the policy limits during a negligent security trial, after the insurer had not offered a penny for years, and resolved another negligent security case for $19 Million shortly before trial. 

Ed believes in “swinging hard, but always fairly” and conducts himself “with the utmost sense of professionalism.” Brannen as Tr. of 1996 C. Bishop Brannen III Irrevocable Tr. v. Jackson Nat’l Life Ins. Co., 418 F. Supp. 3d 1231, 1234 (M.D. Ga. 2019), aff’d, 809 F. App’x 702 (11th Cir. 2020). Ed has been selected to “Super Lawyers,” along with three other lawyers at the trial boutique firm.

In addition to his law practice, Ed serves in the military. Since 2006, Ed has served in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, now with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During “the Surge” in Iraq, he earned the Bronze Star Medal for his support of combat operations. He also served another tour to Iraq in 2018, serving as the general counsel for the 201st Regional Support Group. There, he was responsible for supervising legal offices at three bases across Iraq. He currently serves as the Chief of Military Justice (or chief prosecutor) for the Georgia Army National Guard.

Ed is a member of the Board of Governors for the State Bar of Georgia, and is a graduate of Leadership Georgia. Ed is married to his wife Kristie, who is also attorney at Piasta Walker Hagenbush, LLC.

Michael L. Goldberg is a partner in the law firm of Fried Goldberg LLC and represents victimssuffering catastrophic personal injuries or wrongful death throughout the Southeast, primarily in the areaoftrucking and commercial vehicle accidents. Michael was born in Augusta, Georgia and played for the Division I Basketball Team at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where he graduated with a B.S. in Political Science in 1994.

He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia in 1997. He has beenlead counsel for the plaintiff on 15 cases with verdicts in excess of a million dollars and is admitted topractice law in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. Michael was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers in October of 2013. Fellowshipinto the ACTL is extended by invitation only and is limited to less than 1% of the lawyer population.

Michael was named as one of the top lawyers in Georgia under the age of 40 by the Fulton County Daily Report in 2011 and was consecutively named as one of the top 100 lawyers in Georgia in the Super Lawyers editionof Atlanta Magazine since 2013. He is the author of the Library of Georgia Personal Injury Forms, 6th Edition and Understanding Motor Carrier Claims, 6th edition.
