Mr. Henry Milton Quillian III Related Seminars and Products

Taylor English Duma LLP

Henry M. Quillian, III

Henry Quillian is a partner in the Atlanta, Georgia office of Taylor English Duma LLP, and has been litigating construction claims since 1988, when he started at the Construction department of Smith Gambrell & Russell. Since that time, he has litigated and arbitrated cases in state and federal courts in 25 states, as well as forums in Canada and England.  He pursues intellectual property, insurance coverage and civil RICO cases as well. Mostly as lead counsel, Quillian has pursued many multi-million dollar cases to multi-million dollar conclusions, yet also is prepared to strategically handle smaller matters efficiently. He tries multiple  construction cases a year -- the most recent ones being a 13 day in-person arbitration resulting in a $1.2 million dollar award including all attorneys’ fees and fees incurred by the client and, before that, a 12 day virtual arbitration that resulted in an $8.5 million award for his client despite there being a multi-million dollar counterclaim for liquidated damages, special damages and environmental damages.

Quillian joined Taylor English in 2009, and has been the chair of the Construction Group, which has many active lawyers. Quillian has been a Georgia Super Lawyer since 2004. He received Top 100 in Georgia recognition as a Super Lawyer in Construction for 12 years straight. For nine years, he has been listed in the Best Lawyers for Construction.

He has been a founding member of the Construction Lawyers Society of America and a member of the Litigation Counsel of America since 2015.

Quillian has been recognized as one of Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite in Intellectual Property and Business Litigation many years, since 2007. Quillian attributes these recognitions to simply enjoying his litigation practice and working with a lot of others in complicated matters.

As such, in 2011, he also joined Bay Mediation and Arbitration’s Construction Mediation Panel and became registered as a mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, where he has mediated and arbitrated construction, intellectual property, manufacturing, estate and environmental cases.

Finally, in 2010, Quillian launched a series of interactive training videos for younger lawyers, to assist in mentoring them in litigation. These are found  at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQsFwdTkRHgoJrmk5vASzYg on www.taylorenglish.com and cover many construction related topics – especially arbitration issues. He has chaired the Construction Law for the General Practitioner seminar 14 times, and has spoken at it since 2000.

Quillian has served three terms on the Session of Northwest Presbyterian Church, two terms on the Board of Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary, an historically African American Presbyterian Seminary founded in 1867, and 16 years as an Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 197, Atlanta, an Eagle Scout himself.  He has been married for almost 39 years to his wonderful wife-lawyer, Celia “Deanie” Quillian and has two grown and thriving children.
