Lee Gutschenritter is a trial lawyer dedicated to the representation of individuals and families who have suffered serious injuries or death due to the negligence of others. Lee has won numerous jury trials on behalf of his clients. His most recent trial resulted in a historic $38.6 million jury verdict against one of the largest hospitals systems in the State of Georgia.
In the past five years alone, Lee has recovered in excess of $100 million in verdicts and settlements. Every year since 2016, Lee has been selected as an Atlanta Magazine Super Lawyers' "Rising Star" & “Super Lawyer”, an award reserved for the top 2.5% of attorneys in Georgia. He has also been named in America's Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys®.
Lee primarily handles cases in the areas of medical malpractice, tractor-trailer accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death cases. He has represented clients in cases throughout Georgia and has successfully litigated over one hundred cases in both state and federal courts. Lee limits his practice to handling a small number of cases at a time. This approach allows him to develop meaningful relationships with his clients and to invest substantial time and resources into every one of his cases.
Hon. Gino Brogdon, Sr. presided over complex civil and felony cases for almost 10 years as a trial judge in the Superior and State Courts of Fulton County in Atlanta. Following his 2005 retirement from the bench, Gino tried high-visibility civil cases for plaintiffs and defendants and has become a highly sought-after mediator and arbitrator. He has served as an adjunct professor of law at both Emory University School of Law and John Marshall School of Law, as well as a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Hon. Gino Brogdon’s commitment to resolving disputes effectively, coupled with his extensive legal knowledge, positions him as one of the most respected and experienced mediators and arbitrators in the field.
Xavier Carter is one of Georgia’s leading trial lawyers, nationally recognized for his work in high-stakes medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death litigation. He is known for taking on complex cases against hospitals, corporations, and institutions—and for successfully trying those cases before juries across the State of Georgia.
Xavier began his legal career as a commercial litigator at a top-25 global law firm, where he handled complex business disputes and developed the analytical and trial skills that continue to shape his practice. He later served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, prosecuting cases involving federal civil-rights violations by law-enforcement officials, white-collar fraud, and tax evasion. During his tenure with the Department of Justice, Xavier also served as the Civil Rights Enforcement Coordinator and the Human Trafficking Task Force Coordinator.
For the past eight years, Xavier has focused his practice exclusively on representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice, nursing-home abuse and neglect, and trucking litigation. In recent years, he has served as a lead trial-team member in numerous major jury trials throughout Georgia, working alongside co-counsel including law partner Lindsay Forlines, Stephen Chance, and Andrew King. In the past 3 years alone, that team has secured more than $200 million in verdicts at trial.
Xavier brings to the courtroom the perspective of a former federal prosecutor, the discipline of a large-firm litigator, and the experience of a trial lawyer who regularly tries—and wins—complex cases before Georgia juries.
Lindsay Forlines is a trial attorney and partner with Chance, Forlines, Carter and King, PC (CFCK). She specializes in cases of catastrophic negligence, particularly medical malpractice and elder care abuse. Cases particularly near and dear to her heart include maternal injury and death, birth injury and death, and cases of hospital or other institutional malpractice. A proud trial attorney, Lindsay loves nothing more than getting a case in front of a jury and has grown her practice in recent years to include joining co-counsel in cases aimed for trial.
Lindsay’s passion for trial work is built in large part on her dedication to communication. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia’s acclaimed Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, specializing in broadcast journalism. She was proud to anchor Georgia Gameday, an award-winning collegiate television show, before her journey in law began. Before coming to the plaintiff’s side in 2020, she spent over ten years representing defendants in medical negligence and wrongful death cases.
Lindsay and her partners have had a variety of notable verdicts in recent years. In 2023, they obtained a $40 million dollar verdict against The Medical Center of Central Georgia and Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in a complicated medical malpractice case in Bibb County, Georgia concerning the death of a 25-year-old woman suffering from sickle cell disease. In 2025, Lindsay served as lead or co-counsel on a string of successful trials. In the first, their firm obtained a $42 million dollar verdict against Hospitalist Services of Georgia, PC in Rockdale County, Georgia for the death of a 27-year-old with undiagnosed and mismanaged placenta accreta, who tragically bled out following the birth of her second child. Next, she was part of the multi-firm team that obtained a $70 million dollar verdict in a toxic tort action in Gwinnett County, Georgia against ethylene oxide producer CR Bard. Finally, CFCK obtained a $27.5 million dollar verdict in Clayton County, Georgia for the death of a 61-year-old after Southern Regional, LLC failed to provide the necessary personnel for the handling of a known complication in the cardiac cath lab.
